There is something so special about watching a family grow through my lens, and the Montoya family is one that holds a special place in my heart.

I’ve had the privilege of photographing this beautiful family since their oldest was still in his mama’s belly! From those first maternity photos to watching their family grow into what it is today, it’s been such an honor to capture so many chapters of their story.

For their latest family session, we took advantage of the gorgeous fall colors here in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The golden leaves, warm sunlight, and beautiful autumn scenery made the perfect backdrop for their family portraits.

One of my favorite things about photographing families year after year is seeing how much the kids have grown and how their personalities change. Those tiny babies I once photographed are now big kids with personalities of their own! It’s such a sweet reminder of just how quickly time passes.

During this session, we captured a little bit of everything. Sweet moments between mom and dad, individual photos with each of their children, sibling portraits, and of course, plenty of family photos together. I especially love the natural, candid moments that happen in between the posed photos. Those little interactions are often the memories families treasure most.

As an Albuquerque family photographer, I love incorporating New Mexico’s beautiful outdoor locations into my sessions. Fall is one of my favorite seasons for family photography because of the vibrant colors, soft golden light, and beautiful scenery along the Bosque.

To the Montoya family, thank you for continuing to trust me with your memories all these years. Being able to document your family from maternity to where you are today means more than you know. I can’t wait to see what the next chapter brings!
